ShavingsMy friend and I who have both kept horses together since we were little girls were debating the other day the options of
Shavings or straw for the horses` bedding. I said that I was quite a fan of
Shavings as they seemed to be easier to clean the stables out afterwards than straw. However, my friend is a traditionalist and she prefers straw to
Shavings because she thinks it must be nicer for the horses to lie on. When we were having this discussion we actually got quite heated about it and started to really argue. After a while, we looked at one another and burst out laughing as we could not believe that we had got so cross with each other over something so trivial. Our friendship is one of those that has survived many an argument and we both really value what we have together. I think it is a really wonderful thing to have a friend with whom you are so close that it does not matter if you argue. Indeed, it is very liberating to be able to say what you think without fear of recrimination and I know that she feels the same.
